Lets Play Christmas Shopper Simulator

Its been a while since I made a post here. What can I say life has once again a bit of a nightmare. Fortunately everyone is OK but we really could do with some calmer months ahead.

Anyway today I present you with too new videos from a game released by the video game retailer GAME.

Init you play a Christmas shopper that receives a list of tasks from a payphone and you have to fight through the crowds and Christmas decorations to get what you need in the time limit.

Or you kick balls and presents into people’s faces.

There is actually a lot to do and you have a list of achievement’s that you can complete or you can just trash the place and be a general menace.

Here are to video’s I threw together.

Microsoft Songsmith Commercial

I wonder if they realised how cheesy it is. One thing for certain as a commercial it is certainly working People are talking about it and sharing the video so i guess its microsoft 1 Internets minus several million.

Mac Iplayer

Ok this isnt the post that i had in mind and i certainly didnt expect to be posting again so soon but i thought this news was rather important.

I like many people love to use the bbc iplayer it is simply a great thing to have installed on your pc. When it first came out it was windows pc only its certainly moved on since then expanding on to the wii and recently officaly the playstation 3.

The bbc announced to day in a news item on there news webpage [link] that the iplayer is now available on both mac and linux operting systems.

The new version of the iPlayer has been written with Adobe’s AIR technology which aims to make it possible to create applications that can be downloaded to your computer, rather than just embedded in browser web pages as is possible with the widely used Flash software.

Those who want to try the new version can get a trial version from the Labs section of the iPlayer site.

A beta version of the BBC iPlayer Desktop that uses the Adobe AIR technology was made available on 18 December with a finished version likely to be released in February 2009.

I certainly will be checking out the linux version and i hope that it will be just as good as the pc one.

check out the bbc iplayer Here

If you do try out the new versions of the iplayer tell me how it goes in the comments below.

PC Air

I’m sure that by now most people have seen the ad for the Macbook Air Like all apple ads it simple and clean. I by no means mean that in a negative way.

Anyway for those that haven’t watch this first video

I have to say for the most part I enjoy the apple ads they use some really great music. The exception that I’m thinking about is the Mac v Pc ads which are as annoying as hell and tend to bend the facts but I really don’t want to go into that.

I use a pc myself always have mac’s are OK although they do seem to have interesting problems, however I cant stand a lot of people that use them mostly because the ones I have meet would be classed as fanboys [anyone else hate that term?] they always see so up themselves.

Anyway I digress, The whole point of this post is that while wandering the Internet as I do from time to time I came across a parody of the above advert which i think you will agree is great.

Now I think the creator was having a dig at PC’s and to be honest I don’t care especially when it leads to something this amusing. And one of the best parts about being a pc owner for me at least is being able to mess around with it.

Edit:

Edited to make the second YouTube video work for some reason the video didn’t parse correctly

Piclens

Every now and then when I am bored I visit a little addon website for my browser of choice Firefox. It is a great site full of many useful and useless things https://addons.mozilla.org

I go there when I’m bored to see what new stuff people have been making see if there is any new ideas or new takes on old ideas. Sometimes i find things that are superb and install them immediately.

One such extension I came across the other day is Piclens.

It works with various websites like flickr and basically creates a full screen slideshow of the pictures the video explains better than I can.

Good news for non firefox users to chances are that there is a version available for you as versions are also available for Internet Explorer and Macs.
