Over recent weekends i have been helping beta test a brilliant new Indie game.
The game goes by the name of Audiosurf and is due to be released sometime in February.
The game is brilliant and yet again so simple it uses your own songs to create a track that you run down collecting coloured blocks as you go or as they put it.
“In Audiosurf, you race down a futuristic and colorful highway. The highway, the traffic patterns, and the scenery are all synchronized to the music you have chosen from your own collection. You earn points for clustering together cars of the same color on the highway, and can compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs. Audiosurf builds a highway for any music CD, MP3, iTunes M4A, WMA, or OGG song you choose, so the experience that you have is totally up to you.”
Text and screenshots really cant do the game justice so here is some video.
There should be one more session of beta testing before offical release you can sign up to join on there website. www.audio-surf.com
This game could easily become the new Peggle its certainly one that i will be keeping my eye on.
Google maps Street view is a relatively new feature that’s been added to google maps. As far as i am aware its still only in America at the moment and basically involves a google van driving around with a camera in its roof taking pictures so as to give a street view.
See this video for a better explanation
Its pretty neat however some people have been raising concerns about about privacy issues and to be honest i am not entirly sure what i think about it. There is no doubt that this feature could be useful and it is very intresting but would i like it so much if it was too my door? I don’t think really that i would. Theres nothing like a bit of NIMBYism [Not In My Back Yard] to make life intresting.
Lets just be glad it doesn’t go as far as this video
And as with any important event google is celebrating with a Lego google sign.
Now as a kid and infact as an adult I love Lego it is a brilliant toy and tool. Over the years i have used it for all sorts of things some of which were intended i.e.various models and the such. and some that weren’t so much Its very versatile stuff you know and can really help in a bind.
It seems to me that its one of those toys that will never really go away and Ii for one am glad of that. lets hear it for another 50 years and for many more!
For those that dont know stumbleapon is a brilliant time waster for the bored and a brilliant tool for everyone else.
This is what theyhave to say about them selfs;
“StumbleUpon helps you discover and share great websites. As you click Stumble!, we deliver high-quality pages matched to your personal preferences. These pages have been explicitly recommended by your friends or one of 4,272,682 other websurfers with interests similar to you. Rating these sites you like () automatically shares them with like-minded people – and helps you discover great sites your friends recommend.”
I have been using it for a few years now infact its probably one of the first extensions that i ever used on Firefox and its probably the only one that i couldn’t live without especially when bored.
Just a couple of things i have come across so far today.
